I’m not a serious runner. I’m a busy mom and I run what I can when I can. But I’ve managed to complete two half marathons by training slowly and increasing my milage whenever I could. It wasn’t easy, and I can’t say I loved the training, but I did it. When I talk to people about my races I get the feeling that even though they are interested in completing a race themselves, the thought of training is just too overwhelming. I documented every run I took while training for my last half marathon to show that training for an event doesn’t have to be overwhelming at all – just plan ahead, take your time, and do what you can. And remember, there is no shame in walking your race either!
